'Jaws' Author Peter Benchley Dead at Age 65
NEW YORK (Feb. 12) - Peter Benchley, whose novel "Jaws" made millions think twice about stepping into the water even as the author himself became an advocate for the conservation of sharks, has died at age 65, his widow said Sunday. -
Bay boards next 'Friday'
Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes shingle is coming aboard to produce the 11th outing in the sturdy "Friday the 13th" franchise for New Line. Studio's hoping to fast-track the project -- centered on the origins of the Jason Voorhees character -- so that the pic can be released three weeks before Halloween on Friday, Oct. 13. Bay will produce with Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form.

Word has spread fast like blood spilling from an iron maiden that the Lionsgate/Twisted Pictures partnership is officially spawning the inevitable third chapter in the SAW franchise. Director Darren Lynn Bousman (pictured) will return from the previous entry to helm SAW III, which is slated for release October 27; SAW architects James Wan and Leigh Whannell are also back, teaming with the latter on scripting duties based on a story the pair cooked up.
Friday 13th Prequel??
Jonathan Liebesman, director of the upcoming "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" prequel, is in negotiations to direct the remake of horror classic "Friday the 13th" for New Line Cinema.
"Friday" made Jason, the unstoppable hockey mask-wearing killer, a 1980s horror icon, though the serial killer made only a brief appearance in the final frames of the first movie. Jason didn't even don the famous mask until the third movie.

Roy Scheider Dies at The Age of 75
February 10, 2008 - Roy Scheider, best known for playing Chief Brody in Steven Spielberg's Jaws, died Sunday afternoon at the age of 75, reports The New York Times.
According to an article on NYTimes.com, Scheider suffered from multiple myeloma for several years, and died of complications from a staph infection, his wife, Brenda Seimer, said. The actor passed away in Little Rock, AR.
A stage actor who gained big screen success with roles in such classics as Jaws and The French Connection, Scheider's unique, everyman look also brought him leading man status in movies like 2010: The Year We Make Contact and All That Jazz. Scheider teamed up again with Executive Producer Steven Spielberg for NBC's 1993's sci-fi series, SeaQuest DSV, playing the titular futuristic submarine's commander, Captain Bridger

ok, the trailers section now hosts sci-fi, Horror, Suspense movies, it has the newest trailers for upcoming movies, plus a bunch of older movies.
